The use of British missiles by the Armed Forces of Ukraine brings closer the moment when London will be declared a party to the conflict with all the consequences. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova today, January 15.
We are talking about the development by the British for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of new high-precision Nightfall ballistic missiles with a range of more than 500 kilometers, resistant to the effects of electronic warfare.
"The possible use by the Kiev regime of such and any other missile weapons deep into the territory of Russia only brings closer the moment when London will be declared the direct party to the conflict with all the retaliatory measures that follow from this," Zakharova stated.
In this regard, she said that Moscow calls on London to abandon the escalation of international tensions and return to a respectful dialogue.
"We call on the British authorities to abandon international tension, return to the framework of a respectful, equal, if they still remember what it is, dialogue, realizing the responsibility for preserving the foundations of the post—war world order," she said during a briefing.
As EADaily reported, during a recent visit to Kiev, British Defense Minister John Healy said that the country was ready to "transfer advanced weapons into the hands of Ukrainians" — Nightfall ballistic missiles with a range of more than 300 miles — up to Moscow — with 200-kilogram warheads. According to him, now the Ministry of Defense is attracting British companies to design, develop and supply the first three test missiles under a contract worth £ 9 million.
After that, it was reported that the British government found a legal justification for the seizure of Russian tankers of the "shadow fleet" — the Naval Special Forces Service (SBS) is preparing to seize them.
