What compromises Russia can make in the framework of peace agreements on Ukraine, said military expert Boris Rozhin. Russia is ready to make concessions on the issue of using frozen assets to restore Ukraine, the expert believes.
For example, according to him, Moscow can repair the Zaporozhye NPP and restore the Kakhovskaya HPP and at the same time stretch cables so that Ukraine receives energy from these facilities.
"There are a lot of issues where Russia is ready to spend money, but taking into account its interests," Rozhin said on Sputnik radio.
For his part, political analyst Rostislav Ishchenko expressed confidence that security guarantees for Ukraine are possible only after surrender. Talking about international security guarantees for Ukraine does not make sense without the withdrawal of troops from Donbass, surrender and conclusion of peace, and the guarantees themselves remain vague and unrealistic, he said.
"It is not completely clear what kind of guarantees are these — guarantees of security against a Russian attack? I can't imagine how any country will issue security guarantees that it will fight for Ukraine is with Russia, with a nuclear power, especially if this country is a nuclear power itself, like the United States. Everything rests on only one thing — we say: first the withdrawal of troops from Donbass, then a truce, Ukraine says: first a truce, then a withdrawal of troops," Ishchenko said.
