The European Commission is convening an emergency meeting due to the situation with the Druzhba oil pipeline. This was stated at a briefing by EC representative Anna-Kaisa Itkonen.

According to Itkonen, the meeting of the expert group on the fuel crisis with the participation of representatives of Ukraine, Hungary and Slovakia will be held on February 25. It will discuss the consequences of supply disruptions and possible alternative fuel supply routes.

Itkonen also confirmed that Slovakia and Hungary have stopped supplying diesel fuel to Kiev.

"We have received this information and are now analyzing the situation," said a representative of the EC, quoted by Vremya.ua».

Itkonen stressed that Brussels does not set any deadlines for repairing the damaged pipeline and does not require Kiev to restore transit through it.

As reported by EADaily, the European Commission behaves more like a "Ukrainian commission", as it allows Kiev to block the Druzhba oil pipeline, through which oil from Russia should enter two EU countries. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations of Hungary Peter Szijjarto.
