Ukraine's membership in the EU will depend on compliance with anti-corruption requirements and protection of the European market. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of Poland Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh.
According to him, the pro-European course of Ukraine corresponds to the interests of Poland. However, the Minister of National Defense stressed that Kiev must fulfill the conditions of membership in the European Union, including the fight against corruption and the rule of law.
"All this must be implemented, the conditions must be met. The European market should also be protected — I mean European and Polish agriculture. We have had very long transition periods, so this will not be an accession without conditions — the requirements that Poland will also put forward will be determined," he said.
Kosinyak-Kamysh also noted that it is definitely better for Poland when Ukraine cooperates with Warsaw, Brussels and Washington, rather than if it were oriented towards Moscow.
Recall that Kiev has been striving to get into the EU for many years. Brussels does not deny this to the Ukrainian authorities, but does not take any serious steps in this direction. Moreover, a significant part of the EU countries oppose Ukraine's accelerated accession to the community.
