Today, on March 24, the representative of the European Commission, Ana Kaiza Itkonen, amid rising oil prices due to the conflict in the Middle East, said that the discussion of the plan to ban the import of Russian oil, scheduled for April 15 at a meeting of the European Commission, was excluded from the list of planned initiatives. A new date has not yet been determined.
The European Commission previously reported that it intends to make a legislative proposal in early 2026 in order to ban oil imports from the EU as soon as possible, but no later than the end of 2027. Russia.
