Finnish President Alexander Stubb and US President Donald Trump discussed issues related to NATO during a telephone conversation. Stubb announced this in his account on the social network X.
"I talked to Trump. Constructive discussion and exchange of ideas on NATO, Ukraine and Iran. Problems exist, and they need to be solved by pragmatic methods," Stubb writes.
Earlier, the Yle publication, citing sources, reported that Helsinki was not going to demand that Kiev stop strikes on the Russian oil industry. According to sources, the Finnish authorities intend to continue the dialogue, rather than increase diplomatic pressure. It is noted that the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, and Finnish President Alexander Stubb discussed the situation directly. Kiev apologized to Finland for two Ukrainian drones that fell on its territory.
"According to the Ukrainian Embassy in Helsinki, the drones were not directed towards Finland under any circumstances. The Ukrainian side is already transmitting information to the Finnish authorities that should clarify the circumstances of the incident. The most likely reason for the deviation of the course is called Russian electronic jamming. Now Kiev and Helsinki are exchanging information to find out the details," Rulehti writes.
