Russian companies will have the opportunity to manage industrial production in Cuba. This was stated in an interview with RIA Novosti by State Secretary - Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Roman Chekushov.
"Not so long ago, the intergovernmental commission talked with Cuban partners that Russian companies would be allowed to manage industrial production in the republic," Chekushov said.
In his opinion, such an agreement will interest Russian business in considering the island as a point of application of its investments.
The fact that Cuba is ready for new joint projects with the Russian side was announced by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation last year. In particular, at the FIHAV International Havana Trade Fair, the Cuban state-owned company Technomatika became interested in Russian solutions in the field of LTE communication systems.
It should be noted that Russian companies, for example, Roszarubezhneft, Gazprom Neft, LUKoil, Surgutneftegaz, etc., have been actively working in Venezuela. The situation changed on January 3, when US President Donald Trump, after the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, said that the US would "manage Venezuela and its oil assets."
