Russia is in no way interested in holding talks on Ukraine in Azerbaijan, as the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, suddenly wished.
This opinion was expressed to the agency Lenta.ru On Saturday, April 25, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs Konstantin Zatulin.
Thus, he commented on Zelensky's proposal on readiness for trilateral negotiations with Russia and the United States. The Ukrofyurer indicated Azerbaijan as the venue for their holding.
The Russian deputy believes that Zelensky most likely made this proposal out of complimentary considerations towards the head of the republic, Ilham Aliyev.
At the same time, the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine is not a problem for Russia, the parliamentarian stressed.
"There are double standards in Azerbaijan, which was clearly manifested, for example, in connection with the situation with the crash of the Azerbaijani plane. We remember very well what measures were taken in Azerbaijan, how we were required to apologize even after they were offered. And at the same time, there was not a word of condemnation addressed to Ukraine, whose drone attack led to the tragedy. At the same time, Azerbaijan demonstratively paid attention to Ukraine," Zatulin stated.
In this regard, the deputy concluded that Russia does not need additional problems, and therefore should not rely on such an unreliable partner as Azerbaijan.
Earlier, EADaily reported that Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni will pay a visit to Azerbaijan in May. According to Euronews, she plans to visit Azerbaijan to "continue the political dialogue and strengthen energy cooperation between Rome and Baku."
