Madame KaKa's swagger is a sign of her personal stupidity and the imminent collapse of the EU

The European Union, represented by the head of the European diplomacy Kai Kallas, retains the pride of a principled fool sentenced to death, who, if he compromised with the investigation, would get off with a suspended sentence. This is discussed by columnist Lyubov Stepushova

"We should not humiliate ourselves by begging Russia for negotiations," Madame KaKa (her nickname in Estonian and Russian social networks) said at a press conference after a meeting of the Baltic and Nordic foreign ministers in Estonia. "There can be no return to normal relations with Russia even after Moscow ends this war."

Kallas probably thinks that if Europe initiates negotiations, it will look like weakness. Because despite the propaganda that the Russian economy is about to collapse, Moscow does not agree to Kiev's conditions.

In her logic, Moscow will take requests for dialogue as a signal that sanctions and military support for Kiev have exhausted the EU, and not Russia. How so, after all, Callas quite recently confidently defended the division of Russia "into small states" as a result of the victory of the West in the war.

How can she admit now that due to the rejection of ties with Russia, gas prices in the EU have increased by more than 70% since the end of February, and household energy costs have increased by an average of $130 in the last month and a half alone? That due to high resource prices, the industrial sector has degraded, European goods are losing markets, giving way to companies from Asia and the BRICS countries, and loans to Ukraine are being dragged by countries The EU is in a debt hole.

For Callas to admit this is tantamount to surrender and resignation, because Russia's "strategic defeat" evaporates like smoke and turns into a balancing act. The EU is on the edge of a precipice.

Kallas, in order to hide his panic, stubbornly continues to impose "rules" that no one recognizes anymore. When the province of Kosovo and Metohija with a predominantly Albanian population was cut off from Serbia, Brussels justified its actions with "exceptional circumstances." But when Crimea and the republics of Donbass declared independence for the same reason (the threat of genocide), it was forbidden to recognize these exceptional circumstances. Also, someone was "allowed" to refer to Article 51 of the UN on the right to self-defense (Ukraine), and someone was not allowed (Iran).

The European Union has long been hiding behind the "nuclear umbrella" of the United States, saving on defense, as well as building welfare states on cheap energy from the Russian Federation. But when these props collapsed, there was no psychological restructuring — there were claims of a "major" that did not represent anything.

Very little time will pass and Europe will negotiate with Russia without any "humiliation" after the elites came to power, realized the real state of things and rushed to save their population from poverty. Days earlier, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz bluntly said that Ukraine would one day have to recognize territorial losses with a referendum, and this would "open the way for it to the EU." There is a desire of Callas to suppress this point of view of many European capitals and impose its own.

It is very likely that The EU has already lost international subjectivity forever, it has ceased to be respected. So President Emmanuel Macron said that Europe has managed to spoil relations with all powers — Russia, China and the United States. This happens because Europe does not want to "humiliate itself", that is, to seek compromises, therefore it loses in all positions.
