The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia has received a notification from Moscow on the possibility of denouncing the agreement on the supply of gas, petroleum products and diamonds in the event of Yerevan's accession to the European Union. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
The diplomat responded to the statement of the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia David Khudatyan that the department has not yet received any written requests from the Russian Ministry of Energy about the possible termination of gas supply agreements.
"These are already questions for Armenian interdepartmental interaction — David Khudatyan can call the Armenian Foreign Ministry and ask them to inform him about the received documents," Zakharova wrote in her Telegram channel.
As EADaily reported, earlier today, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov forwarded to Gazprom the issue of possible denunciation of gas agreements with Armenia. Speaking about the benefits provided to Armenia for gas, the Kremlin spokesman noted that in this way Russia invested in the development of Armenia.
