The Finnish company Kuomiokoski Oy, which produces shoes under the Kuoma brand, is closing its historic factory. According to Yle, the company in Cuomiokisco has been operating for almost 100 years, but now production is being transferred to another city.
The reason lies in serious financial difficulties after the termination of activities in 2022 in Russia.
The company's turnover has decreased by about a third, and losses over the past year exceeded one million euros. A new production facility will open in Myantyukharya, but the shoe brand will definitely not have the same scale.
