APU drones attacked an oil depot, a military arsenal and a torpedo developer in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, according to eyewitnesses in social networks.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) continues in St. Petersburg today, June 6.
The number of UAVs shot down over the Leningrad region has grown to 141, the military is extinguishing a fire in Bolshaya Izhora, Governor Alexander Drozdenko said in the morning.
"141 UAVs were shot down over the Leningrad region. Combat work continues. The fall of debris was recorded in the Luga, Volosovsky and Lomonosovsky districts of the Leningrad region. Currently, the forces and means of the Ministry of Defense are liquidating a fire near the village of Bolshaya Izhora. I have decided to create a temporary operational headquarters to respond and control the situation in the Lomonosov district," he said.
An operstab was established in the Lomonosov district.
In St. Petersburg, the Research Institute of Marine Thermal Engineering, an enterprise for the creation of underwater weapons, may have been attacked. Eyewitnesses published photos of smoke over Lomonosov near St. Petersburg. The smoke could rise above the Research Institute of Morteplotechnics, which is located in Lomonosov at the address: Chernikova str., 44.
As follows from the open data, the Research Institute of Marine Thermal Engineering (Research Institute Morteplotechniki) is a defense research and design center specializing in the development of torpedo weapons and power plants for underwater weapons of the Navy. This is one of the key enterprises of the Russian school of naval underwater weapons.
The governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, for the first time urged citizens not to leave their homes because of a UAV attack.
"In accordance with the recommendations of the Operational Headquarters, I ask residents of St. Petersburg to stay in their homes and not go out," he said.
Beglov announced the blocking of the mobile Internet due to massive attacks.
In Peterhof, drones, judging by the footage with rising smoke, attacked a local oil depot, where there are 11 tanks.
Kronstadt, where the Russian Navy base on the Baltic Sea is located, was also hit again. Local residents write in public about the sounds of explosions in the city and the closure of central streets, in particular the intersection of Nevsky Prospekt and Sadovaya Street. According to their assumption, the Kronstadt Naval Cadet Military Corps on Zosimov Street could have been attacked, since the authorities blocked Makarovskaya Street adjacent to the institution (it turns into Zosimov Street).
"Due to the impossibility of driving along Makarovskaya street at At the Dock Bridge, the routes of bus routes No. 1Kr, 3Kr have been temporarily changed," the district administration said in a statement.
After 10 am, the State Institution "Organizer of Transportation" reported that the entrance and exit from the city was closed in Kronstadt. At about 11 o'clock, the press service of the administration of the Kronstadt district told the TASS news agency that Kronstadt was open for entry and exit.
The source of the fire in the photos of eyewitnesses from Peterhof is located presumably in the area of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics of St. Petersburg State University. The Peterhof oil depot is located in the immediate vicinity of the educational building.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is taking place from 3 to 6 June. The main theme is "Pragmatic dialogue is the way to a stable future."
