The leaders of Great Britain, France and Germany are pursuing a course that prevents the creation of conditions for negotiations on a truly lasting peace on the Ukraine, and put forward unacceptable conditions. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

"The Europeans are pursuing a course aimed at preventing the creation of conditions for negotiations on a truly comprehensive, just and lasting peace," the diplomat noted.

As Zakharova stressed, "the leaders of these countries pretend by their statement that they are calling for peace, but in fact they are putting forward unacceptable conditions a priori, increasing the production of long-range weapons for Kiev, and generally taking steps to militarize Ukraine and Europe."

She added that in Paris, London and Berlin they don't even hide it. In this regard, Zakharova recalled that on May 28, the head of European diplomacy, Kaya Callas, stated the following:

"Europe will never be a neutral mediator between Russia and Ukraine, because we are on the side of Ukraine and protect our own security interests."

Thus, Zakharova pointed out, Callas "admitted that Europe claims a place at the negotiating table, in fact, as part of a single delegation of the West and Ukraine against Russia."

Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, spoke earlier about the inconsistency of the position of France, Germany and Britain.

As reported, the leaders of Great Britain, France and Germany, together with Zelensky, published a policy statement with five basic conditions for the start of the settlement process, supporting direct negotiations between Moscow and Kiev with the mandatory participation of the United States. Among the requirements are reliable legally binding security guarantees for Ukraine, including the deployment of multinational forces, as well as maintaining the freezing of Russian assets until full compensation for damage.
