The Russian Federation has announced a diplomatic demarche by the United States in connection with the non-admission of representatives of the Russian delegation to the G20 events.

This was reported to RIA Novosti by Ambassador-at-large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Marat Berdyev. He explained that we are talking about representatives of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and Russian Academy of Sciences.

During the US presidency of the G20, they faced admission problems because they are on Washington's sanctions lists. The Russian side considers such an approach categorically unacceptable.

The diplomat informed that in this regard, Moscow held a series of diplomatic demarches, continuing interaction with the United States at the level of foreign policy departments to eliminate these barriers.

The Ambassador pointed to the fact that the restriction of the rights of Russian delegates creates a negative atmosphere at the summit and casts doubt on its successful holding this year.

Recall that the G20 summit is scheduled for December 14-15 in Miami. The American side did not allow Russian representatives to attend the spring meetings of the Bretton Woods Institutions on the eve of the G20 summit.

As reported by EADaily, earlier the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the visit of Russian leader Vladimir Putin to the G20 summit in the United States has not yet been worked out.
