British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced an unprecedented action in the waters of the English Channel. For the first time since the introduction of sanctions against the Russian oil industry, the British authorities have detained a tanker classified by London as a so-called "shadow fleet". Details are provided by RT.
According to the head of the British government, the ship was stopped in the morning, on June 14. It was trying to pass through the strait, which is one of the busiest sea arteries in Europe.
Prior to this, there were no such precedents with the physical detention of vessels of this category.
