In Hungary, a drunk man hijacked a plane and sent it towards the Paks NPP. This is reported by the telegram channel "Base" with reference to local media.
According to Hungarian media, a 24-year-old young man entered the airfield, hijacked a Cessna 172 and headed for the Paks nuclear power plant. Civil aircraft are prohibited from approaching it at a distance of less than three kilometers and at an altitude below six thousand meters.
Cessna 172 was detected by military radars, two JAS 39 Gripen fighters were lifted into the air. However, there was no interception: the pilot lost control and sat down in the field.
After landing, the hijacker tried to escape from the scene in the car of an eyewitness who stopped to help the distressed, but the owner of the car did not allow it. A few minutes later, the attacker was detained by the police. As it turned out, the hijacker was drunk.
As reported by EADaily, the Paks NPP can avoid a complete shutdown due to the shallowing of the Danube.
