Ukraine, in the case of Belarus, has the right to self-defense. This was stated by the representative of the European Commission Anita Hipper, commenting on the recent demands of Vladimir Zelensky to Minsk.
"We can remind you of the EU's position on Belarus. Belarus continues to contribute to the Russian military aggression against Ukraine," she said.
Hipper also said that Belarus, in the opinion of the European Union, "resorts to provocations against The EU", including "violates airspace" and "uses migration as a tool of pressure."
"That is why the EU has imposed sanctions against the regime of Alexander Lukashenko and remains ready for further measures as long as the Belarusian authorities continue to act in this way," the EC representative added.
At the same time, commenting on the statements of the Ukrainian side, Hipper stressed that, "of course, Ukraine has the right to defend itself."
Recall, on June 19, Vladimir Zelensky said that Minsk should dismantle certain repeaters, which, according to Kiev, help Russia to correct drone strikes in Ukraine. According to him, he knows about four such facilities in Brest and In the Gomel region, and gave a week to dismantle them, warning that otherwise Ukraine could liquidate these facilities on its own. Later it became known that the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will discuss this issue with Vladimir Putin at the upcoming meeting.
