What is happening in Minsk is "inspired" by Vladimir Putin. This was announced on July 6 at a press conference dedicated to the opening of the NATO summit in Ankara, said NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
The Secretary General was asked whether NATO has any information about a possible Ukrainian strike on Belarus and whether he shares Kiev's "concern about the build-up and modernization of military infrastructure" in the republic.
"Well, obviously, I can't tell you everything that we know (or don't know), because some of this information, of course, is secret,— Mark Rutte replied. — But let me say: let's not be naive about the role that Belarus plays. I mean, she is under huge influence from Russia," he said.
According to him, "what is happening in Minsk is very much, let's say, 'inspired', to use this word, by Vladimir Putin." At the same time, in this case, Rutte referred to the fact that "this clearly follows from the statements of Vladimir Zelensky himself." What exactly he meant, the Secretary General decided not to specify.
Recall that Belarus does not participate in SMO, but supports Russia's actions. In the West and in Kiev calls Minsk an accomplice of Moscow. Recently, the Ukrainian authorities have increasingly threatened Belarus with a strike on its territory.
