Finland has restricted shipping and air traffic in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland. This is reported The Finnish Armed Forces in the social network X.
"The Finnish Armed Forces have introduced temporary restriction zones for aviation and maritime traffic in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland on the morning of July 4. Always check the current restricted areas before traveling, " the message says.
According to Yle, restrictions were imposed in the area of the city of Kotka due to attacks by Ukrainian drones on Russia. At the same time, the Finnish Defense Ministry said that no drones were detected over the country's territory, and the measures are preventive in nature.
According to local residents, in the morning the sky in the Kotka area was ploughed by Hornet fighters, the sounds of their flight were repeatedly heard. The country's Defense Forces confirmed that enhanced air patrols were introduced.
Prior to that, similar restrictions were imposed on Thursday morning.
