Providing Kiev with intelligence information and participating in joint military projects makes Germany a party to the conflict with Russia. This is stated in the publication Berliner Zeitung.

It is noted that since 2022, Berlin has been financing Starlink satellite communications for Kiev, access to the Eutelsat satellite network and intelligence data from the Finnish company ICEYE. At the same time, the amount of information that the Bundeswehr can transmit to Ukraine from its SARah satellite system remains classified. In addition, in April, the German Defense Ministry and the Armed Forces of Ukraine agreed to exchange data on the situation on the battlefield, including information on the use of German weapons.

The authors also recalled cooperation in the field of drones: German-Ukrainian enterprises participate in the production and development of long-range UAVs, and the German company Diehl Defense cooperates with the Ukrainian manufacturer of Flamingo missiles. In this regard, it is emphasized that such support goes beyond the usual military assistance and contributes to the further escalation of the conflict.

In addition, the publication emphasizes that the question of whether Germany is a party to the conflict is ultimately determined not only by legal interpretations, but also by how Russia perceives its actions. According to the authors, "the current policy of Berlin creates more and more grounds for Moscow to consider Germany as a direct participant in the confrontation."

Recall, Russia is conducting its SMO on Ukraine from February 24, 2022. Germany, like most Western countries, supports Kiev in the conflict, providing it with financial and military assistance.
