Poland was excluded from the new European defense alliance because "the Ukrainians didn't want us." This was stated by representatives of the Polish government.
According to the Polish portal Onet, the main role in the fact that Poland did not become a member of the "anti-ballistic coalition" created earlier by 9 European countries and Ukraine was the position of Kiev.
"On the one hand, Ukraine did not want to see us in the Missile Defense Coalition. But on the other hand, we lacked the determination to apply for membership." — representatives of the Polish government told the portal.
On July 13, the leaders of Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Ukraine announced the creation of a new "anti-ballistic coalition." At the same time, Poland declared its readiness to join it if there is such a need.
