The current head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Igor Klimenko, who was supposed to be the Minister of Defense instead of the Minister of Defense, refused to move to a new position.
This was reported on Thursday, July 16 by the Ukrainian edition of Strana, referring to the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction Maria Mezentseva.
"Klimenko refused the post of Minister of Defense, today the vote in The Rada will not take place on it," the parliamentarian said.
The information was confirmed to the agency by the deputy of the Rada from the Golos faction Yaroslav Zheleznyak. He said that the issue of the Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs will be decided today at a separate meeting of the Servant of the People faction, which will be held at 16:00.
Earlier, EADaily reported that Mikhail Fedorov, who has not yet been completely dismissed from the post of Minister of Defense of Ukraine, held a briefing in Kiev. He said that he refused Zelensky's offer to voluntarily leave the post and become an adviser to the president.
