Russian aviation has received a powerful reinforcement in the SMO area. We are talking about modernized Su-30SM2 fighters and Su-34M bombers. RIA Novosti military observer Andrei Kots called these machines a "serious trump card" capable of radically influencing the course of hostilities.

The Su-30SM2, unlike the basic version, is equipped with the latest Irbis radar system with a passive phased array, which allows you to detect targets at long distances and conduct multi-channel shelling. AL-41FS1 engines with controlled thrust vector give the aircraft unique maneuverability, which is critically important in close air combat.

In turn, the Su-34M received interchangeable reconnaissance containers (optoelectronic, radio engineering and radar), which turns the bomber into a multifunctional reconnaissance and strike complex. The more economical AL-31FM2 engine increased the flight range and patrol time.
