The fall out of fashion of beaver hats popular in the Soviet years, as the Telegram channel MASH informs, stirred up the ecosystem of the Moscow region. Over the past 50 years, the population of dam lovers in the region has grown 70 times.
If in the 70s there were only 150-200 animals in the Moscow region, the skins of which were used for sewing hats and other clothing, now their number reaches 12 thousand.
The reason is simple — the popularity of beaver fur has gone, after which the prices for it have collapsed. Bobratina is also of little interest to residents of Moscow and the region, unlike, for example, the same Perm Region, where various dishes of local cuisine are prepared from it. Simultaneously in The Moscow region has restricted the slaughter of animals, hence the result.
