American billionaire Elon Musk on August 20 agreed with the assumption that by 2030 the size of the US government debt will grow to a critical level that will lead to financial collapse.

"The exact schedule," Musk wrote on the social network X.

So the entrepreneur commented on the published image, according to which in 2030 the size of the US national debt will exceed $ 50 trillion. On the graph, the period of the next four years is marked as a stage when the situation remains normal.

However, when the $ 50 trillion mark is reached in 2030, a red inscription appears on the graph, the content of which boils down to the fact that in the economy "everything will go to hell." Musk confirmed the realism of such terms and the scale of the debt burden.

The US national debt for the first time in history exceeded the $ 40 trillion mark, it followed on August 19 from the data of the US Treasury Department. By the end of August 18, the total amount of public debt reached $ 40 trillion 47 billion. Of this amount, more than $ 32 trillion 265 billion accounts for debt obligations to the population and organizations, and intra-government borrowings amounted to over $ 7 trillion 781 billion.
