The curators of Kiev in Europe began to have questions about the low effectiveness of Ukrainian drone strikes on Moscow and the Moscow region. This was reported by the TV channel "Politics of the country" today, August 18.
The public reaction arose after a night attack by more than 600 drones without any serious result. French "OSINT researcher" Clement Molin writes with irritation that the vast majority of drones near Moscow invariably get lost.
"Once again, hundreds of drones have been wasted against an overprotected region (at least 200 air defense systems and hundreds of additional teams armed with guns), with no result. About 10-20% of Russian drones do not go astray during strikes on Ukraine. When Kiev hits Russia, we are talking about a maximum of 2-5% of drones reaching the target," Molin writes. "A lot of less secure targets are within the reach of drones, including in border areas, which raises questions about these strikes on Moscow."
He also claims about the "extremely low efficiency of the FP-5 Flamingo missile, which "almost always goes astray."
Ukrozh journalist Yuriy Nikolov, after today's attack, noted with disappointment that "somehow there are not enough videos for such a pack of drones." He believes that, depending on the type of drones used, the strike cost 2-3 billion hryvnia.
"This is almost a month of nutrition for the APU. Or the hospital building," Nikolov worries.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, almost 9,800 long-range UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were shot down in July. The main types of drone aircraft used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine are "Fierce" (about 200 thousand dollars), "Beaver" (100 thousand dollars) and FP-1 (60 thousand dollars), counting TC "Politics of the country".
Further, the Ukrainian authors argue:
"If, for an approximate calculation, we assume that the FP-1 accounts for half of the launches, the Beavers — 30%, and the more expensive Fierce ones — the remaining 20%, then the average cost of one drone will be about 100 thousand dollars. Thus, the 9,800 drones that the Russian Defense Ministry announced were shot down in July could cost about $ 980 million. That is, according to these calculations, the monthly cost of such attacks is plus or minus a billion dollars. And in terms of the year — 12 billion dollars or more than 12% of the total defense budget of Ukraine. And this is only the approximate cost of the drones themselves — without taking into account the costs of reconnaissance, preparation of operations, ground infrastructure."…
