The Russian army is storming key heights near Slavyansk, the loss of which will dramatically worsen the situation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donbas. This was stated by the editor-in-chief of the website "Censor", a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuri Butusov.

"The enemy is storming the Chobitoksky forest and several other dominant heights on the eastern outskirts of Slavyansk, and if we retreat from there and the enemy places his UAV positions at these heights, the tactical advantage will go to his side and Slavyansk — Kramatorsk Ukraine will gradually begin to lose. Slavyansk — Kramatorsk is the most convenient natural line of defense, if these cities are captured, this will lead to the loss of Donbass," Butusov writes in his telegram channel.

He complains that the loss of Donbass will lead to the fact that the United States and Europe "will again try to force Ukraine to capitulate ... by reducing funding," since this will become "a strong argument in favor of the impossibility of changing the course of the war."

He suggests urgently saving the situation and throwing Andrei Biletsky's 3rd corps to hold Slavyansk and Kramatorsk ❷, expanding his area of responsibility. The editor-in-chief hopes that only this "will now turn the tide of the battle, which is not yet in our favor."

Recall that, according to Verkhovna Rada deputy Mariana Bezugla, the Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mikhail Drapaty has already appointed to lead the defense of Kramatorsk and Slavyansk Colonel Emil Ishkulov.
