Over 1,000,000 of ethnic Azerbaijanis are still victims of ethnic cleansing policy, Azerbaijan’s office to the OSCE says in an address sent to the OSCE Permanent Council on the occasion of the 50th year of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.
The address says that almost 250,000 Azerbaijanis have been deported from Armenia with thousands more displaced from the “occupied territories of Azerbaijan.” “As a result, the occupied territories are ruled by a separatist regime. Armenia has left those people no chance to get back to their homes and is conducting a consistent policy to change the demographic, historic and cultural essence of the occupied territories,” the address says.
