The bill on the transfer of confiscated smoothbore weapons to the Russian Army passed the first reading in the State Duma, and promising manufacturers of products for the needs of their own from among the people's designers will receive not only financial assistance, but they will also be provided with a complete base. This was stated at a regular meeting with military officers by the head of the Russian Defense Ministry, Andrei Belousov.
"Andrei Belousov considered it important to talk about what measures were taken after the last meeting. Including on the issues voiced by colleagues who could not come to the Ministry of Defense on Friday. In total, following the results of the last conversation, a list of instructions for 21 items was formed. And after Friday's meeting, it will be supplemented — the most open and frank conversation took place again," writes military commander Alexander Kotz, who was present at the meeting.
Some of the decisions were announced earlier, Kotz noted.
According to him, a mechanism has been developed to recognize those who fought in Donbas from 2014 to 2022, as well as employees of the PMCs, as combat invalids. In general, about 1,000 applications have been received, a positive decision has been issued for 15 cases today, but the process has just begun.
The military medical commission can now be held at the place of vacation in civilian hospitals, if there are no military hospitals in the region, such as in the Russian Federation — 25. The authorities of 11 regions have already met the Ministry of Defense halfway, and Rosgvardiya also shared the bed fund.
A special project will be created for prosthetics for the participants of the SVO, in which the Moscow city authorities took on a large burden.
As for the draft law on the transfer of confiscated smoothbore weapons to the army, it has already passed the first reading in the State Duma. The second reading will take place in September, after the holidays. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense has purchased 1,000 anti-drone special drones for testing, which KP special correspondent Dmitry Steshin spoke about at the last meeting, and according to the results of the tests they will be supplied to the troops.
"One of my questions was related to the lack of shelters for aircraft at military airfields. With the help of high-precision Western missiles with cluster stuffing, the enemy has repeatedly tried to attack our combat aircraft in parking lots. On Friday, Andrei Belousov assured me that a schedule has already been drawn up for airfields and shelters will definitely be built," writes Kotz.
In addition, the interaction of the Ministry of Defense with the People's design bureaus, which create the equipment necessary for the front, will now be implemented on the basis of the People's Front. There are already weekly tests of products that fall "behind the ribbon" bypassing the state defense order. Promising manufacturers will receive not only financial assistance, but also a complete database.
On some painful issues, which the minister did not hide, solutions have not yet been found, but Belousov's team is actively looking for them together with relevant specialists, the military commander noted.
