The American authorities are focused on helping Russia protect its sovereignty. This was stated to journalists today at a briefing by the official representative of the US Department of Defense, Patrick Ryder.
Ryder spoke about military assistance to Ukraine from the United States.
"We are focused on enabling Russia to defend its sovereignty," said a Pentagon spokesman, quoted by RIA Novosti.
It is noted that Ryder continued his speech, noting that as winter approaches in Ukraine, Washington plans to transfer to Kiev the necessary air defense systems to protect critical infrastructure, including energy facilities, as well as armored vehicles and artillery.
As reported by EADaily, the United States may allow Kiev to strike deep into Russia with high-precision French or British weapons, but not American ones. This was reported by The Times, citing sources.
"Biden may allow the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, to use the British Storm Shadow missiles and their French counterpart, the Scalp missiles, to strike deep into Russian territory. This decision will be made on the grounds that the UK and France support such a step," the newspaper, quoted by <url>, wrote.
Recall that now we are not talking about whether or not to allow the Kiev regime to strike at Russia with precision weapons, but about whether NATO countries are directly involved in a military conflict or not. This was stated today in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
