The scandal surrounding the American military-industrial company "Raytheon" may turn into Poland.
Raytheon has agreed to pay a fine of more than $950 million in connection with the proceedings conducted by the US Department of Justice. The charges are related to overcharging for contracts for the supply of Patriot air defense and missile defense systems. According to a statement by the US Department of Justice, the company is accused of "serious government fraud related to erroneous pricing for certain government contracts and violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the Arms Export Control Act."
The former representative of the Polish Armament Agency, Lieutenant Colonel Krzysztof Platek, commenting on this news, suggested that the Americans from Raytheon, when supplying Patriots, could overestimate the price for Poland.
"This is possible because the contracts are concluded by the government of the United States," Platek said, answering a question about the possibility of deceiving the "Raytheon" of Poland.
According to the expert, the Polish side in this case does not negotiate with the contractor, but instead receives an offer for an already agreed contract.
