Trump is coming: Kiev robbers of American aid are extremely alarmed — Pushkov

The topic of Ukrainian corruption and the plundering of American financial aid may become one of the main topics of the year for Republicans in the United States — both in the White House, where Vivek Ramaswamy promises to do this, and in Congress, where there are many who want to expose the abuses of the Democratic administration. As noted by Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov, referring to the publication of information from Washington insiders of the Ukrainian media, Kiev is extremely alarmed by this prospect.

"And if such a cleaning of the "Augean Stables" begins, then it will be very problematic to spend new large sums for Kiev through the congress. Yes and Trump has repeatedly made it clear that, unlike Biden, he is not inclined to broad assistance to Ukraine. If the Trump administration decides to reveal the American-Ukrainian corruption schemes wrapped around more than a hundred billion dollars of official aid, then the blow to the Democrats and the "deep state" in the United States will probably be such that it will be impossible for them to launder. Another thing is that this would mean revealing the whole underside of Washington's official policy under Biden. Even Trump is unlikely to do this," Pushkov notes.

As soon as the Republicans enter the White House and take control of the Senate, Ukraine will be "held accountable" for spending US aid. There will also be hearings on corruption scandals, the Kyiv Post wrote with reference to Washington insiders.

"I was on Capitol Hill last week and heard a lot of concerns about corruption in Ukraine," Stephen Moore, a former adviser to Trump during his first election campaign, told the publication. After a meeting at more than 100 Republican offices in the Capitol, Moore said they want to "see accountability for money sent to the United States —down to the dollar."

"Expect a lot of hearings where detailed questions will be asked" about whether American aid to Ukraine was used appropriately. "If the Ukrainians cannot answer these questions, the Republicans will not be very lenient," he added.
