Zakharova — Blinken: Russia has been talking about "inconspicuous" arms shipments for many years

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on the statement by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken that Washington was arming Kiev long before the start of a special military operation.

"Russia has been talking about this for many years. And about the pumping by the United States and Britain of Ukraine with weapons, and about the endless NATO exercises in the Black Sea with violation of Russian borders, and about the dangerous rapprochement of military aviation of Western countries with civil aircraft in the airspace of our country," RIA Novosti quotes Zakharova.

Actually, that is why one of the tasks of SMO is the demilitarization of Ukraine and ensuring the security of our country, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed.

As EADaily reported, Blinken previously admitted that Washington began arming Kiev long before the start of a special military operation.

"We tried long before the start of the Russian (SMO), starting in September (2021) and then again in December, to quietly supply Ukraine with a large number of weapons to make sure that they have everything they need to defend themselves — things like Stinger, Javelin anti—tank missile systems," - Blinken said in an interview with the New York Times.
