With their trip, the ministers demonstrated their readiness to support Syria "in its political reset, peaceful transfer of power, restoration and, no less importantly, in the process of public reconciliation," the German Foreign Ministry said.
"Many Syrians hope that the country will be able to return to the bosom of the international community. This requires internal processes in Syria, which should not be disrupted from the outside.… This is not only in the interests of the Syrians, but also in the interests of the security of Europe and Germany, which is why it is so important that the French Foreign Minister and I came here together today," Berbok said, in particular.
