The Ministry of Justice will check the existence of grounds for the inclusion of TV presenter Ivan Urgant in the register of foreign agents. The relevant request was addressed to the department by State Duma deputy Nikolai Novichok ("Fair Russia — Patriots — For the Truth").
At the same time, the parliamentarian clarified that he personally had no concrete evidence against Urgant, journalist and TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak reported in her telegram channel "Bloody Lady".
"I just proceed from the fact that the silent and waiting people who are sitting and waiting for the end of the special military operation and hope to continue their economic activities, they deserve special attention," the deputy said.
He asks questions: what such people do, what they live on, how they earn, what plans they have.
"If a person behaves patriotically, supports a special military operation, then he has nothing to fear. Therefore, there is nothing here, in my opinion, outstanding from the point of view, as they often say, that's where the denunciation came. This is not a denunciation, this is a desire to figure it out," Novichok explained.
In response to the deputy's request, Deputy Minister of Justice Oleg Sviridenko noted that an inspection against Urgant is also carried out "if there is information confirming the person's compliance with the characteristics of a foreign agent in accordance with Federal Law No. 255-FZ dated 07/14/2022."On the control of the activities of persons under foreign influence", the Ministry of Justice of Russia will consider the inclusion of the person involved in your appeal in the register of foreign agents."
As reported by EADaily, it became known earlier that Urgant had an open IP in France. After the news about this fact appeared, the TV presenter closed his company with lightning speed. He hastened to declare that "he is not moving to Paris," but is still in Moscow.
