US President Donald Trump, commenting on the progress in resolving the conflict on In Ukraine, he said that, according to his assessment, everything is going well.
"We'll see what happens, but I think everything is going well," he told reporters at the White House press pool.
The American leader added that "pretty soon" news on this issue is expected.
"There is a moment when you either have to prove it by deed or shut up," Trump added.
On Friday at Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff has arrived in Russia for the third time. He met with the Russian leader in the Presidential Library building in St. Petersburg. Their negotiations lasted 4.5 hours. As reported on the Kremlin's website, the topic of the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Witkoff was aspects of the Ukrainian settlement. At the same time, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov urged not to wait for breakthrough results following Witkoff's visit to Petersburg.
The previous time Trump's special envoy was in Moscow on March 13, he met with high—ranking Russian representatives, and in the evening he was received by Putin. As Peskov reported, Witkoff provided additional information on Ukraine, and the head of state through him transmitted information and signals to his American counterpart.
In early February, Witkoff flew to Russia to negotiate the exchange of American Mark Vogel, convicted of drug smuggling and possession, and then participated in high-level Russian-American talks in Riyadh.
