A Russian delegation of scientists has crossed the Iranian-Azerbaijani border, MGIMO professor and member of the Presidential Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights Elina Sidorenko said.
"Dear friends. I am in the territory of Azerbaijan. The Russian Embassy is doing everything possible. The Russian delegation promptly crosses the border," she said in a telegram channel.
The group will now head to Baku airport, from where it will take a direct flight to Russia.
A delegation of 14 people arrived in Tehran on June 12 with a three-day educational mission. However, on the night of June 13, the situation escalated sharply due to Israeli shelling. Earlier, a Russian film crew headed by director Fyodor Bondarchuk left Iran.
