Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with employees of the Russian nuclear industry in Sarov was genuinely surprised by the profession of a young girl who asked him a question.
As RIA Novosti reports, it happened on Friday, August 22 — a young girl who asked the head of state about the importance of the Northern Sea Route turned out to be the second mate of the captain.
"Who do you work for? Second mate? It's crazy, honestly. I thought the girl was studying at school, and she is the second mate of the captain," Putin did not hide his amazement.
The TASS news agency, for its part, reports that the world's first female captain of a nuclear icebreaker was presented at a gala concert in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Russian nuclear industry.
We are talking about Marina Starovoitova, who was appointed captain of the nuclear icebreaker Yamal (Project 10521), which is part of the FSUE Atomflot of the Rosatom State Corporation.
As reported by EADaily, earlier in Vladimir Putin said that the American nuclear scientists from Los Alamos, who collaborated with the USSR, were smart people.
