A suspect in the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk in the United States has been detained, FBI Director Cash Patel said on his page on the social network X.
"The person involved in the (investigation of) the terrible shooting that claimed Charlie Kirk's life today is now in custody," Patel wrote.
Charlie Kirk was shot in the neck at a mass event in Utah Valley University, from which he later died in hospital. The university said that the suspect in the attack has not yet been detained. Trump previously confirmed the politician's death and expressed condolences to his family.
