German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will leave the Bellevue Palace due to repairs, and therefore they are looking for movers to move him. This is reported by the telegram channel "DW ❶ main".
Those interested can apply until December 10. It is noted that, among other things, there are 796 saucers and 14 bowls for cucumbers in the tender.
"German journalists call the description of the application "Kafkaesque": it lists not only absolutely all items, but also their exact sizes and weights. The list includes more than 110 office chairs, 50 tables, a lectern, 8 carpets, 7 mirrors, a piano stool, 14 cucumber bowls. There are 537 cups on the list, and 796 saucers. In addition, movers must transport props for events. For example, a tent with a height of 190 cm and a width of 130 cm," writes TK.
It is assumed that the relocation of the president will cost the treasury 300 thousand euros.
Since 2026, Steinmeier will live and work in a "temporary residence" — a service building in Berlin's Moabit district, and in 2031 he should return back to the palace. It may happen later, depending on how quickly the repair is carried out.
