Ukrainian and American officials discussed changes to the 28-point U.S. peace plan before the meeting in Geneva, a Western official briefed on the talks told The New York Times.
According to him, at the moment the work plan differs from the version published on November 20 by Deputy of the Rada of Ukraine Oleksiy Goncharenko❶.
The delegations of Ukraine and Kiev met to discuss a peaceful settlement in Geneva on November 23. According to Axios, the meeting was "tense", in particular, representatives of Washington accused the Ukrainian side of leaking "negative details" of the American peace plan. However, later the USA and Ukraine announced progress and the development of an "updated and improved framework for a peaceful settlement." U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the meeting "the most productive and meaningful."
The parties agreed to continue work on the settlement and maintain contact with the European Union. In Geneva, the delegations of Washington and Kiev also met with representatives of the EU.
According to Rubio, the United States expects that an agreement will be reached "as soon as possible," preferably by November 27. He allowed a telephone conversation to be held between Donald Trump and Vladimir Zelensky. CBS News and Reuters reported that Washington and Kiev are discussing Zelensky's possible visit to the United States this week to discuss the agreement.
