Soviet and Russian film actress Ksenia Kachalina died on December 2 at the age of 55. Russian actor, director and producer Alexei Agranovich announced her death on his social network page.
He noted that he studied with Ksenia Kachalina, and was also friends for some time.
"She was an enigma, a punk, complex and alluring. It was her time and not her time. Ksyusha did not know how to adapt. She was smarter and weaker than time at the same time. She is no longer there," Agranovich wrote.
Ksenia Kachalina was born on May 3, 1971 in Saratov. She studied for two years at the acting faculty at the Saratov Sobinov Conservatory (1987-1988), then graduated from VGIK in 1995 (workshop of S. Solovyov and V. Rubinchik).
Her debut film role was in Valery Rubinchik's film "Dislike" (1991), also known for her roles in the films "Over Dark Water" by Dmitry Meskhiev (1993), "Three Sisters" by Sergei Solovyov (1994), "The One Who is More Tender" by Abai Karpykov (1996), "The Circus Burned Down, and the clowns ran away" by Vladimir Bortko (1998), "The Romanovs. The Crowned Family" by Gleb Pnafilov (2000), "Holiday" by Garik Sukachev (2001). The actress has 19 films in her filmography, the last of which is dated 2007.
The actress met Mikhail Efremov in the 2000s. The couple had a daughter, since 2004 Kachalina and Efremov have been divorced.
The actress has not been acting in recent years, according to various media reports, she abused alcohol and lived alone with a lot of cats.
