Donald Trump called his former national security adviser Keith Kellogg an "idiot" because of the support of Vladimir Zelensky. This is reported by The New York Times, citing sources.
According to them, Kellogg did not immediately have a relationship with other members of the administration. He told the Europeans:
"I'm on the defensive against these isolationists in the administration." And Zelensky was publicly called "a struggling and courageous leader of a country at war."
Later, Trump asked him: "So you call Zelensky a man in a difficult situation, and brave?"
"Sir, it is,— Kellogg replied. — There is a struggle on Ukrainian soil for the survival of his country. When was the last time an American president faced something like this? It was Abraham Lincoln."
Later, telling other advisers about this episode, Trump grumbled: "He's an idiot."
