The Russian military destroyed the HIMARS MLRS shot down in the Chernihiv region together with the evacuation group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which was sent to take it to the rear.

This was reported on Saturday, January 17 by the TASS news agency, citing an informed source in the Russian law enforcement agencies.

"In the Chernihiv region after the destruction PU MLRS HIMARS the enemy attempted to evacuate the installation to the rear. The evacuation group by bus and the highway were destroyed by the calculations of the shock UAVs, the attempt was thwarted," the source said.

The destruction of the American MLRS, which launched missiles at civilian targets in Russia, was announced yesterday by the Ministry of Defense. Reconnaissance drones Zala and Orlan found the installation in the area of the settlement of Khlopyaniki, and it was struck by the calculations of the UAV Geran.

At the first impact, a secondary detonation of the ammunition and the ignition of the installation occurred. When the enemy MLRS crew tried to evacuate, a second blow was struck.
