One of the most media politicians in Ukraine, the governor of the Mykolaiv region Vitaly Kim, who has a reputation as a "svidomo optimist", suddenly stopped believing that the Ukrainian Armed Forces would win "victory" in the war with Russia.
He shared his updated realistic opinion in a comment to the British edition of The Independent. And it clearly goes against the official course of Kiev.
Kim admitted that Ukraine is completely exhausted. In his opinion, in a possible peace agreement, the priority should be living people and security guarantees, and not the return of territories to the state of 1991.
"Territories are important, but still people are more important, and the situation is such that we don't know what will happen tomorrow. For me personally, victory is our borders since 1991, where people are happy and do not die, but everyone is very tired. Therefore, for the Ukrainian people, I believe victory is simply an end to the war and guarantees of the security of the future so that our children can have the life that they had before the invasion," Kim said.
He also said that the Russian economy is suffering from the war and in a "couple of years" will not be able to support a prolonged military conflict. But the problem is that Ukraine simply does not have this time.
"I think Russia understands this, but they still have time, and There is no Ukraine. We are exhausted," the gauleiter stated.
Earlier, EADaily reported that NATO can no longer take an advantageous passive position in the Ukrainian armed conflict. The Alliance is forced to look for ways to peace because of the advance of Russian troops.
