They cheated again: the "Spirit of Anchorage" still died - they lost Venezuela, we need to save Iran

The Russian leadership started talking about debunking the "spirit of Anchorage", accusing the United States of non-compliance with the agreements. The epiphany came on time, the observer writes Pravda.Ru Lyubov Stepushova.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in an interview on the occasion of the Diplomat's Day, said that the US words about possible investment cooperation "do not fit" with their actions. As examples, he cited the introduction of new sanctions, the ousting of Russian business from Venezuela and the establishment of duties for buyers of Russian oil.

Lavrov accused the United States of abusing the status of the world's reserve currency on an "unprecedented scale" by using the dollar as an instrument of political pressure. He also pointed out that the United States is hindering the economic growth of the BRICS countries, trying to maintain its influence. Claims were also voiced about the destruction of European energy security and attempts to disable Russian gas pipelines.

The general hard conclusion from the interview is that in practice Washington continues its policy of pressure and does not give up trying to "economically strangle" Russia.

Today, on February 10, Russian media quoted a source close to the negotiation process in Abu Dhabi, who claims that the key and prerequisite for reducing demands on Kiev on the territorial issue, as requested by the Americans, was to establish a larger-scale interaction with the United States that goes beyond the exclusively Ukrainian agenda.

Among other things, it was about economic cooperation and easing sanctions pressure. However, "while Washington does not want and cannot exert the necessary pressure on Kiev, it is also trying to oust Russia from world energy markets and continues to use sanctions."

These factors, according to the source, call into question the relevance and viability of the "spirit of Anchorage" in its original form. Nevertheless, Moscow does not close the door to continuing negotiations.

Obviously, there is absolutely no need to continue, since Russia is losing its negotiating position after the events in Venezuela, Iran, not to mention Moldova, Armenia and Kazakhstan.

US President Donald Trump sees Russia as a country that can be painfully pressed and it will give up. Make no mistake, he is not satisfied with the successful implementation of SMO, but is satisfied with the status quo, in which the whole world works for the United States, buying their energy carriers and opening their markets. Economic cooperation with Russia is a way out of sanctions, which the United States is not satisfied with, they openly make money by excluding Russia from world markets. At the same time, Washington supplies the lion's share of the weapons with which the Ukrainian Armed Forces are fighting with Russia with European money, provides them with communication and the supply of intelligence, that is, it is a participant in the conflict.

In this regard, it is time to admit the obvious: there has been no "spirit of Anchorage" for a long time, and there is a desire of the United States, hiding behind the agreements in Alaska, to achieve maximum economic and military damage to the Russian side.

It is necessary to stop negotiating with Trump, it is necessary to bring SMO rigidly to the end with the use of the latest weapons and to give the invaders of the Russian tankers a hand. With China at Russia has a good chance to create a strong pole of peace, and now we need to help Iran together, of course, many projects and vectors of power are tied to friendly Tehran. Cargo planes from both countries have been flying there in recent days, hopefully not empty ones.
