The Shevchenko court of Kiev has passed a sentence in absentia to the Russian singer, Honored Artist of Russia Yulia Chicherina. This is reported in the account of the court in the social network.
The guilty verdict was handed down on February 24. The singer was found guilty of an attempt on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, crossing the state border with the aim of harming the interests of Ukraine and a number of other crimes.
"Chicherina Yulia Dmitrievna was sentenced in absentia to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property," the report says.
What property is subject to confiscation is not specified.
As EADaily reported, Chicherina was put on the all-Ukrainian wanted list in 2015.
In 2023, the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) telegram channel stated that, based on the collected evidence, Chicherina was suspected under four articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. She faces life imprisonment.
The special service indicated that at the end of last year, the singer published a video where she called on Ukrainian servicemen to surrender. She also threatened them with "imprisonment in concentration camps in Siberia."
The singer personally oversees the collection of money to help her long—time frontline friends - signallers from the 1st army Corps of the People's Militia of the DPR. She also regularly goes with concerts to the special operation zone.
