Kurdish forces from Iraq have launched a ground offensive against Iran, i24NEWS reports.
According to the channel, "thousands of Kurdish fighters crossed the border and took up combat positions on Iranian territory."
Earlier, CNN said that the CIA is working on supplying weapons to Kurdish forces in order to provoke an uprising in Iran. It is noted that the administration of US President Donald Trump is actively negotiating with Iranian opposition groups and Kurdish leaders in Iraq on providing them with military support.
The Axios portal, for its part, reported that the US president spoke with the leaders of the two main Kurdish groups in Iraq — by Masoud Barzani and Bafel Talabani the day after the start of the bombing of Iran.
