The destruction of Israel and the creation of an independent state in Palestine is "close," the Iranian army said, Tasnim news agency reports.
"Undoubtedly, the destruction of the Zionist regime and the formation of an independent Palestinian state on the territory of Palestine with the presence of all religions on earth is close," the report says.
The statement of the Iranian army was timed to Al-Quds Day is an annual international day of solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinians for independence. It is celebrated annually on the last Friday of the month of Ramadan.
At the end of February, US President Donald Trump announced the start of a military operation against Iran. Then the United States, together with Israel, attacked the territory of the republic. In the first days of the military operation, Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei was killed.
Later, the American president said that the United States had already defeated Iran. According to him, everything ended "in the first hour." He also noted that Washington had dealt a more powerful blow to Tehran than "any other country in history."
In response, the secretary of the National Security Council of Iran, Ali Larijani, said that the country would not back down until the US leadership "regrets it," RBC reminds.
