Hungary stops gas supplies to Ukraine, until the transit of Russian oil through Druzhba is resumed. This was announced today, March 25, by Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
"Until Ukraine starts supplying oil, it will not receive gas from Hungary. We will protect Hungary's energy security, we will keep the protected price of gasoline and the reduced price of gas!" he said.
Last year, about 46% of all gas exported by Ukrainians passed through Hungary. The total volume of natural gas exports from Hungary to Ukraine during this period amounted to 2.5 billion cubic meters, or 14% of the total natural gas consumed by the country in 2025.
